This page explains the rules we hold ourselves to when publishing on M698. It exists so that readers can hold us to them.

Who writes this site

Content on M698 is written by the M698 Editorial Team and credited to the team rather than to individual pseudonyms. We do not publish experience reports from people who have not actually played the game in question.

How we select games

A game appears on this site only when it passes our publishing checklist, including a playability test on a mid-range phone, a readability test on the failure state, and a second-run test. Games that fail any of those are reworked or dropped, regardless of how much work went into them.

Guides and accuracy

Strategy guides are written from our own play, not compiled from other sites. Where a claim is contested — for example whether a particular technique measurably improves scores — we say so rather than presenting it as fact. When we get something wrong we correct it and note the correction.

Rankings and roundups

Rankings reflect our editorial judgement and the criteria stated in each article. We do not accept payment for placement, and no game has ever been ranked on this site because of a commercial relationship.

Advertising and independence

There are no advertising networks inside our games and no sponsored placements on the site. If that ever changes, this section will state it plainly before anything changes on the page.

Corrections

If you find an error, tell us through the contact page. Material corrections are made quickly and the article’s modification date is updated so readers can see that something changed.
