Block Fall
Stack tetromino blocks, clear full rows and keep the pile low as the drop speed climbs.
About this game
Block Fall is the falling-block classic rebuilt for touch screens. Seven shapes drop one at a time; a completed horizontal row disappears and every cleared line makes the next block fall faster. Ten rows fill the board, so the real skill is not clearing lines quickly but stacking efficiently enough that you always have a flat surface to land on.
The control scheme is deliberate: swipe left or right to nudge a block, swipe down to rotate, drag sideways to slide under pressure, and pull down to soft-drop a piece every time it is exactly where you want it. That last habit is what separates scores of 2,000 from scores of 20,000 — soft dropping early leaves room for the next three shapes.
Speed rises with each cleared line, and the score multiplies when you clear multiple rows at once. Clearing four rows at the same time is worth far more than clearing four rows separately, which encourages you to leave one column open and gamble on a long piece.
A game lasts between two and eight minutes depending on how tidy your stack stays. Your best score is stored on your own device, so you can chase it across sessions without an account.
How to play
- Keep the stack flat: flat surfaces mean any shape fits next.
- Leave one column open and wait for a long bar to clear four rows at once.
- Soft drop a block the moment it is placed — it scores a point and speeds up your rhythm.
- Rotate before you slide; a rotated block is easier to judge.
- When the pile reaches the top third, stop gambling and start clearing.
Questions
How does scoring work?
Each cleared row scores, and clearing several rows with one block multiplies the value — a four-row clear is worth far more than four single clears.
Why does the game get faster?
Drop speed increases with every cleared line, which keeps a long game tense instead of relaxing.
Can I pause mid-game?
Yes — the pause button freezes the board and the timer, and there is no penalty for pausing.
Is my best score saved?
Your high score is stored locally in your browser, so it survives a refresh on the same device.
